Elysion is a new hope from Greece in what is called Female fronted gothic metal and a great proof is their debut, «Silent Scr3am». In fact the band got the interest of the famous label Massacre and that is something important. What you have to do is to check out this arising romantic but also metal, power and read what Christianna (vocals) and Johnny Zero (guitar) have to say to us.

1- Are you pleased with the final result of Silent Scr3am?

Johnny Zero: At first, on behalf of all Elysion, I thank you for the hospitality! Yes, we are pleased with the result. We gave our best and in combination with the great job done from the contributors that participate (from the producers Mark Adrian and Ted Jensen, up to the graphic artists Natalie Shau and Seth Siro Anton), we achieved our desirable intent.

2-You are another Greek band, which broke the boundaries of your country. How did you get in agreement with such a big label like Massacre Records?

Christianna: From the beginning we gave interest in the “details”. It was and will always be the most important ingredient for a label to invest at your band or some other bands that approach them. A catalytic role was played by the press reviews (with the more important one that of Metal Hammer, as “suggestion of the month) and the reports from our appearances  with The Gathering, Diary of Dreams, Christian Death. It is a great honor for us that our first CD is released by a label that is a leader in this genre.

3-What are your expectations from this release?

Christianna: The band expects a positive response by the people ( through the worldwide distribution of Massacre). We hope the audience will share the same passion we feel for our compositions.

4-Really, how do you describe your music?

Johnny Zero: Like a little sunbeam that drives through a dark room.

5-At a scale of 10, rate your debut album.

Christianna: Elysion is consisted by musicians and not by reviewers, so it is better for everyone to keep his place (laughs). However, I can answer your question by giving you the average from the reviews we had till now from the worldwide press. At 73 reviews we have an average of 8,4/10.

6-What are the main influences for the creation of Silent Scr3am? Did the environment you leave in affect your music?

Christianna: Elysion believe in the uniqueness of every member. It is natural to have a variety of influences and the opinions about the compositions diverge. That is the magic of the human existence and we do not want that precious ingredient to be absent from our music. So, an “ocean” of ideas overwhelms the studio, creating a mixture of opinions and in the end we keep the core, which is the constituent. As you can understand, "Silent Scr3am" reflects emotions, experience, reactions and opinions from the total band and also every member separately.

7-How do you intend to promote it?

Christianna: Most of the promotion, as you can figure out, is taken by the promotional department of Massacre, which also includes advertisements in the press. From our side and with the few resorts we may have we are working on Internet promotion. But, as I said before, everybody must be in his place so, we are in the studio preparing for our oncoming concerts, which will be an important way of promotion.

8-Have you planed any live appearance in Greece?

Johnny Zero: Of course and it will be really soon. Greece is our homeland and the Greek fans where the first who have supported our band since the beginning. The tour will cover all the areas of our country and we start in April 2010. We are really happy because everything is arranged!

9-What was Greek audiences response to Elysion?

Christianna: Until now the audience has been very warm and we get the same impression from the Internet and in live appearances. We are really glad when someone who has never heard us before tells us that he like us. How can the feelings not be mutual?

10-Tell us which are your favorite Greek bands?

Christianna: I like those bands which play with their heart and every time they give all of their soul. Do you know how many of those are? It would be really insipid and unfair to just mention them. It does not help our conversation...I just want to focus on the fact that the Greek scene has nothing to envy from the bands abroad. We have many bands with professional behavior and remarkable work that overwhelms our scene, after almost a decade of inaction and natural I mean from 1993 and after.

11-Now tell us how did you manage to get the catering of the album done by a producer of the magnitude of Ted Jensen?

Johnny Zero: (laughs). I like the similitude you used! I just want to correct that the production is the result of Mark Adrian while Ted Jensen attended the mastering of the disk. As a band we put high marks. So with our insistency and careful choices we tried to team up with the most top-ranking persons in their field (meaning all the contributors, from the musicians to the graphic artist), with ulterior intention to create a most rewarding result.

12-Overall, how does the production of this album sound?

Johnny Zero: As I aforementioned, the production is the result of Mark Adrian and at this time we are talking about the best Greek producer in the area of Rock. I am not only referring to his skills but also in issues of comportment. He really helped the band and over 80% of the result is his doing. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts. Surely the production is balanced and has the necessary clarity. But the most important element in my opinion is the exhibit of the bands power in general and not focusing on individually skills of the members. We are a band and not "one man show"!

13-Tells a few words about the lyrics of the album.

Christianna: There is no strict concept on "Silent Scr3am", however there is a mental unity in the tracks because all of them talk about human emotions and experiences. It is very important the lyrics to be simple. The listener can identify with the lyrics giving them a version of his own. The most beautiful things are said with simple words and Elysion try just that, to express the beauty through simplicity. We thank Mahi for her inspiration.

14-Even though it is soon, do you have any other material ready for a new album?

Christianna: It is really soon to speak about new songs. Elysion now promote the "Silent Scr3am". The inspiration never stops!
